Visual Concepts

Visual Conceptsは、カリフォルニア州を拠点とするコンピュータゲーム開発会社です。この会社は、Take-Two Interactiveの2Kシリーズのスポーツゲーム開発で広く知られています。特に、バスケットボールゲームの「NBA 2K」シリーズは高い人気を誇ります。

同社は、元々セガに買収され、セガの完全所有スタジオとして活動していました。セガは当時、自社の内部スタジオとは区別するために、Visual Conceptsを「1.5開発スタジオ」という位置づけで扱っていました。しかし、2005年1月には、完全子会社であるKush Gamesと共に、Take-Two Interactiveに売却されました。この買収を機に、Take-Twoは新しいパブリッシングレーベル「2K Games」を設立しました。

設立当初は、一風変わった「おでかけレスターれれれのれ(^^;」のようなタイトルも開発していましたが、現在はスポーツゲームの開発に注力しています。特に、バスケットボールや野球といったスポーツジャンルのゲームで高い評価を得ています。
