ユウジン・ナガサワ

ユウジン・ナガサワ（Yujin Nagasawa、1975年6月 - ）は、英語圏で活躍する著名な哲学者であり、心の哲学と宗教哲学を専門としています。2012年5月からは、イギリスのバーミンガム大学教授を務めています。彼の研究は、特に心の哲学における重要な議論である「知識論証」（マリーの部屋）において高く評価されています。

略歴

1975年6月、東京に生まれる。
1993年3月、明治学院東村山高校を卒業。
1996年7月、アメリカ合衆国・ニューヨーク州立大学ストーニーブルック校文理学部（文科系）に入学。
2000年5月、同校を優秀な成績（Magna Cum Laude）で卒業、学士（哲学）を取得。
2000年9月、オーストラリア国立大学の大学院に入学。
2004年5月、同大学院を修了、Ph.D（哲学）を取得。
2003年7月-2003年11月、オーストラリア・マッコーリー大学哲学科で非常勤講師を務める。
2004年12月-2005年5月、カナダ・アルバータ大学哲学科でアイザック・ウォルトン・キラム記念博士研究員として研究を行う。
2004年6月-2005年11月、オーストラリア国立大学応用哲学・公共倫理研究所研究員。
2006年1月-2009年9月、イギリス・バーミンガム大学哲学科、神学宗教学科、講師（Lecturer）
2009年10月-2011年8月、同大学で上級講師（Senior Lecturer）を務める。
2011年9月-2012年4月、同大学で準教授（Reader）を務める。
2012年5月-、同大学教授（Professor）に就任。ジョン・ヒック記念宗教哲学研究所（The John Hick Cetre for Philosophy of Religion）共同所長も兼任。
2017年9月-、イギリス宗教哲学会（The British Society for the Philosophy of Religion）会長に就任。

研究内容

ナガサワ教授は、心の哲学、特に意識の性質や知識の限界に関する問題を深く掘り下げています。「マリーの部屋」という思考実験を題材に、物理的な知識だけでは捉えられない意識の質（クオリア）の存在を論じ、物理主義的な心の哲学に対する重要な反論を展開しています。また、宗教哲学においては、神の存在論や奇跡の可能性、死後の世界など、形而上学的なテーマに取り組んでいます。
